Abstract:
Silver and gold nanoparticles have changed the medical field in various ways. Due to their very small sizes, high surface area, and physical and chemical properties, they have found widespread applications in drug delivery, imaging, diagnosis, and therapeutics. They usually respond significantly to the magnetic field which varies with time, and hence they can transfer enough thermal energy. Their unique physicochemical properties have led to the development of biosensors for point-of-care disease diagnosis. Greener synthesized gold and silver nanoparticles have also revealed anticancer activity toward numerous cancer cells. In this book chapter, we will therefore explore the potential application of greener synthesized silver and gold nanoparticles in the medical field.
