dc.description.abstract	Counseling in the context of HIV and AIDS care is a combination of information exchange, skill acquisition and emotional support as the counselor interacts with the person infected with HIV (the client) and others significant to the client – who may include family members, friends, health practitioners, employers and people who give spiritual support.1The aim of HIV counseling is to help the client to cope with the stress related to HIV or AIDS and to think through personal decisions relating to HIV and AIDS services.
