Abstract:
Nyagoha always saw herself as more than an employee in someone else’s company. She dreamed of being her own boss and changing Kenya through business formation. Over the course of the past ten years, from a university student, later to an MBA student, and finally to a bank executive, Nyagoha retained her passion for entrepreneurship. Similarly, since childhood, she also entertained a business idea in the back of her head: rural electrification through renewable energy. Now in 2014, Nyagoha stared hopelessly at her wall in her Kileleshwa apartment. She covered one of her bedroom walls with hundreds of small post-it sticky note written ideas on her grand business idea. Reading Business Talk weekly in the Business Daily, she segmented her possible customers, identified her value propositions, and delineated her channels. However, Nyagoha just felt overwhelmed with all the resources needed to launch her rural electrification business. Given her limited capital, how should she commence marshalling resources?
