dc.description.abstract The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of mental wellness on the performance of Employees Within Brand design development in Kenya. The study used research questions which were; what is the effect of employee wellbeing on performance, what is the effect of stress on employee’s performance and what are strategies for mental wellness of employees at Brand Design Development in Kenya? The study adopted the use of descriptive research design. The target population was composed of the management team, senior, mid-level and junior members of staff at Brand Design Development. The population of the study was 50 employees and adopted the use of census survey technique where all employees were sampled. The study used primary data collection through the use a questionnaire which was constructed with structured questions. Correlation and regression analysis were used to analyze quantitative data to assess the relationship between mental wellness on the employee performance. The researcher used a linear regression model to test whether there was a relationship. For the statistical collection of data, the, the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS ver.24) was applied. The analysis if data was presented in form of figures and tables. The results of the study indicated that above indicates that positive employee had a significant role in the organization, and this was demonstrated by a mean of 3.925 and that psychological wellbeing can forecast the future performance of individuals this was shown by a mean of 4.225. Psychological wellbeing in employee job performance includes work happiness where a mean of 3.825. There was strong positive and highly significant results between employee performance and stress. The findings of the study showed that stress in the workplace occurs when employees are presented with high job demands this was shown by a mean of 3.575. A strong positive and highly significant results between employee performance and stress. The results of the study indicated that rewarding an individual work contributes to mental health of employees in the organization this was shown by a mean of 4.175 The findings of correlation analysis between mental wellness and employee’s performance showed a strong positive and highly significant. The regression analysis indicated that there was variation of employee performance was due to the changes of stress.The study concludes that positive employee wellbeing had a significant role in the organization and that employee has an impact towards organization, and that employee wellbeing at work promotes advantages to an organization having a healthy workforce that enhances general performance. Secondly, stress in the workplace occurs when there is high job demands and that employees in the organization spend much of their time at work which has a strong impact on psycho-physiological and social wellbeing. Lastly, rewarding employees in the work act as a strategy to mental health of employees in the organization. Coaching, and mentoring are associated with higher levels of job satisfaction and commitment to the organization and that employees should feel comfortable with and empowered by and focus on mental wellness. The study recommends that the organization should adopt a healthy workforce through the human resource and counselling department this should enhances general performance of the organization. The organization should work in team and have open communication among them. The organization should have proper organizational structure which is an important determinant of health in the working place. The management of the organization should try to mitigate and sort out ways to help employees overcome stress. The human resource should recognize the potential of employees as an asset to the organization. It is the responsibility of the management to create a conducive organizational climate to work stress-free on a day-to-day basis. The management can take proper steps to control the job stress levels of employees leading to high morale and productivity among them. The management should increase awareness of mental wellness problems and the impacts of towards the employees, and they should promote a psychologically healthy workplace. The employees should be recognized and rewarded for the employees’ efforts in a fair and timely manner this might include financial rewards such as bonuses and pay rises. en_US
