dc.description.abstract The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of organization culture on organization performance of banks in Kenya. The study focused on three research objectives: To determine if organizations have a culture; To examine the relationship between organizational culture and organization performance; To determine ways in which organization culture impact organization performance. To achieve this, the researcher adopted a descriptive study of Family Bank Kenya Limited. The population of study was made up of 50 respondents who were mainstream employees involved in the core business of the company. The respondents were identified through non-probability sampling in the form of random sampling. The collection of data was conducted through the use of questionnaires and thereafter analyzed through inferential statistics so as to be able draw conclusions. Data coding was first done then followed by data presentation via graphs, charts, tables as well as pie charts. The study findings revealed that indeed there exists an organizational culture in the Kenyan banking industry. This was evidenced by the various cultural elements for instance, mission, empowerment, change creation, customer focus and organization learning. On the aspect of the relationship between organization culture and organization performance, the study revealed that indeed there exists a relationship between the two, in the banking industry. This is evidenced by the way the different aspects of the organization culture significantly contribute to the performance of the organization, for instance, agreement on issues, the clarity of strategic intent, as well as the mission and objectives. On the various ways in which the organization culture impacts on the performance of the organization, the study findings revealed that indeed the organization culture impacts on the financial performance, employee performance as well as the successful strategy implementation. In light of these findings therefore the recommendations brought forward these include the careful analysis of the various organization cultural aspects. Such analysis enables the organization to clearly understand the level of understanding of their employees with regards to the organization culture. Secondly the study recommended that the banking industry should acknowledge that indeed the organization culture must be able to bind all members of the organization together since the success of the organization will depend on the organization culture adopted. This to a large extent helps in stimulating certain ideas which if implemented fully can bring success to the organization. Finally that proper maximization of the organization culture should be engaged in order to improve performance. en_US
